Missouri River Fly Fishers 2018-2019 Great Falls Tour Schedule

In the past, we’ve offered consistent meetings and for years those meetings were at the FWP building at Giant Springs on the first Thursday of every month. As your club has aged and some of the more active members have moved on, activity and participation has fallen off. More recently, our locations, times and dates have moved around a bit and many of our members and the public have been missing out. This next season, we hope to change that. We are posting a yearly schedule of events right now so you can plan the dates. Rather than a monthly meeting with a guest speaker, we are throwing down some real fun. 10-13-18 – The After Party – Location is the Do Bar starting at 7PM

We are inviting all local anglers, guides, fly shops, and anyone else who wants to celebrate a rad summer of fly fishing on the Missouri River and its tributaries. There will be lots of free fly fishing giveaways, a BBQ presented by Smoked in Great Falls, and a raffle. We have also asked a number of the top YouTubers in the fly fishing world to send us their coolest clips from this summer’s fishing to roll during the party. The cover charge is $5 which includes your raffle ticket, BBQ, and likely some free fly fishing stuff.

12-8-18 – Christmas Fish List – Location is the Do Bar and starts at 7PM

We are inviting everyone to join us for the annual MRF Christmas event, but this year we are switching it up a little bit. For your entertainment, the Drake Magazine will be presenting the 2018 Fly Fishing Film Awards. Be sure to bring anyone who might be interested in getting you something for Christmas. Our local fly fishing retailers will be bringing all their best Christmas gifts for display and you will be able to register for those gifts. We will then post everyone’s Christmas list on our website, so you’ll know what to get your fly fish loving friends and family. There will also be a silent auction, in case you are the instant gratification type and need some new fly fishing stuff now! Finally, we will have a “Make your own cocktail” bar. So, come be creative and make a cocktail, register for some fly fishing gifts, and watch some of the best fly fishing clips of the year.

1-25-19 – F3T Fly Fishing Film Tour Great Falls, Montana – Location is the Do Bar and starts at 7PM

The original and preeminent exhibition of fly fishing cinema, The F3T is a one of a kind experience. Each year fishy folk of all ages gather in big cities and small towns alike to soak up films from around the world, spin a few yarns amongst friends and dream about casts yet unmade.

The baddest fly fishing film tour on the planet is coming back to Great Falls, MT in 2019. Come join us at the Do Bar in the dead of winter and begin building your stoke for the upcoming fly fishing season on the Missouri River.

2-23-19 – The Annual Missouri River Fly Fishers Banquet and Art Auction – The Heritage Inn

The annual banquet is our marquis event and it includes dinner, silent auction, raffles, and a live art auction. This is the largest fly fishing art auction in the state of Montana, and this year we have partnered with some incredible artists. We have also partnered with many local businesses and breweries to make this event something every fly fishing enthusiast must attend each year.

3-29-19 – IF4 Film Tour presents the local State of the Rivers Address – The Do Bar at 7PM

The International Fly Fishing Film Festival is coming back to Great Falls, Montana this March and they will be helping us to present the State of the Rivers Address. Come join us for an evening of some of the world’s best new fly fishing films and learn about the populations and health of the Missouri River system’s trout as we go head first into the 2019 fly fishing season.

4-11-19 – Kelly Galloup’s Streamer School and Iron Fly Competition – The Do Bar at 7PM

Kelly Galloup is this decade’s streamer fishing sensei. Let him take you to school about what he has learned about catching big fish on streamers. We will also be hosting an Iron Fly streamer fly tying competition and who better than to judge the winner than Kelly Galloup himself.

Summer 2019 – Carp Rodeo – We are bringing back the carp rodeo. Date and Times TBD

Location:  Do Bar Banquet Hall – 1800 3rd St NW Great Falls, Montana

The Do Bar Banquet Hall is an all ages venue with multimedia plug and play for our presentations. Godfathers Pizza is available next to the banquet hall along with a full bar for the adults.
