We are looking for volunteers to help paint “Clean. Drain. Dry” on the boat launches at Willow Creek Reservoir and Pishkun Reservoir on Wednesday, July 14. Since MRF board members mentioned over winter that they were looking to paint local boat ramps, we’re reaching out to you first. If we don’t get enough volunteers (we only need 2 to 4) lined up in the next week or so, we’ll broaden our reach. Please share with your listserve / contacts.
The Central & Eastern Montana Invasive Species Team (CEMIST) and the Sun River Watershed Group (SRWG) are calling on volunteers for July 14, 2021. CEMIST & SRWG will be using a stencil to paint the ‘Clean. Drain. Dry’ logo onto the Willow Creek Reservoir & the Pishkun Reservoir boat ramps in an effort to raise awareness & participation levels of aquatic invasive species prevention practices amongst boaters & anglers. CEMIST & SRWG will need 2-4 volunteers at each site in order to complete the stenciling at each boat ramp. Volunteers may participate in either or both boat ramp paintings. In order to RSVP to the event, volunteers should contact Colin Threlkeld via phone/email at 762-338-8589 or colin.cemist@gmail.com.
Here is the schedule, please let us know if you want to help at one reservoir or both, and if you would like to carpool from Great Falls:
10 am – Noon: Willow Creek Reservoir boat ramp clean, paint, wait for drying
Lunch, head to Pishkun
2 pm – 4 pm: Pishkun Reservoir boat ramp clean, paint, wait for drying
Volunteers should bring:
- Sunscreen
- Work clothes (that you do not mind getting paint on)
- Gloves (if you do not want to get paint on your hands)
- Sack lunch (if you plan to volunteer at both sites)
Drinking water and painting supplies will be provided. Please let us know if you can help! Thanks.
